Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) Policy

Effective Date: January 1, 2024

1. Introduction

Kinnect is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all its users. As a platform that connects people through events and shared plans, we recognise the critical importance of protecting children and vulnerable individuals from harm, including child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This policy outlines our zero-tolerance approach to CSAE and the measures we have implemented to prevent, detect, and respond to any such activity on our platform.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all Kinnect users, community admins, employees, contractors, and third-party service providers. It governs all content, communications, and activities conducted on or through the Kinnect platform.

3. Zero-Tolerance Policy

Kinnect strictly prohibits any activity, content, or behaviour that involves or promotes CSAE. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Sharing or possessing explicit images, videos, or any other forms of media of minors. Only text content is allowed to be shared by users on the platform.

  • Grooming or attempting to exploit minors.

  • Facilitating or coordinating CSAE activities.

  • Using the platform to identify or contact minors for exploitation.

4. User Verification and Access Control

To minimize the risk of CSAE, Kinnect implements the following measures:

  • Age Verification: Users must confirm they are 12 years or older during registration. Parents or guardians must manage accounts for minors where applicable.

  • Restricted Features for Minors: If minors are allowed on the platform under parent/guardian supervision, their ability to comment on shared plans is limited to connections only. Sharing content is restricted to connected users or public community admins.

  • Community Oversight: Community admins are trained and required to monitor activities and report any violations.

5. Reporting and Response Mechanisms

Kinnect empowers users and community admins to report any suspected CSAE activity through the following channels:

  • In-App Reporting: A "Block Contact" and "Report" button are accessible on all user profiles and shared plans.

  • Dedicated Support Team: Users can email or contact Kinnect’s CSAE response team at hugo@kinnect.io.

6. Content Moderation

Kinnect employs a combination of automated tools and human moderation to:

  • Flag suspicious behaviour, such as inappropriate plan descriptions.

  • Monitor user-generated content and community activity for compliance with our policies.

7. Education and Awareness

Kinnect is committed to raising awareness about CSAE through:

  • User Guidelines: Providing clear guidelines on acceptable behaviour and how to recognise and report CSAE.

  • Admin Training: Offering training resources to community admins to help them identify and handle CSAE incidents responsibly.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Kinnect respects user privacy and adheres to applicable data protection laws. However, in cases involving suspected CSAE, Kinnect will:

  • Retain and share relevant data with law enforcement as required.

  • Ensure all data sharing complies with legal obligations and protects the privacy of victims.

9. Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of this policy will result in immediate action, which may include:

  • Account suspension or termination.

  • Reporting the user to law enforcement.

  • Legal action where necessary.

10. Continuous Improvement

Kinnect regularly reviews and updates its CSAE policy and practices to align with evolving laws, technologies, and best practices.
